Ghana’s Baba Abdul Rahman suffered a heavy defeat on Saturday as his team Augsburg was pummeled 4-0 by German Champions Bayern Munich at the SGL Arena in Munich.
The local derby which was the top liner of the weekend in the German Bundesliga saw Black Stars Head Coach Avram Grant in attendance to watch the youngster.
Baba Rahman lasted the entire duration of the match. He has played in all 15 matches for Augsburg so far in the season and he is seen as one of the brightest spots in the side.
The former Dreams FC captain showed a lot of promise during the game and was a handful for Arjen Robben in majority part of the encounter. Morocco International defender Mehdi Benatia who joined Bayern from AS Roma during the summer transfer broke the deadlock in the 58th minute after connecting from a Frank Ribery free kick.
Arjen Robben scored twice in-between a Robert Lewandowski strike in the 68th minute to hand the three points to Bayern.
The win is Bayern’s 12 of the season and Augsburg’s sixth defeat of the campaign. The former European Champions lead the League table with 39 points but are yet to taste a defeat. Augsburg lies third on the table with 24 points.
The match was watched by 30,660 spectators inside the SGL Arena.
