This year, our dear club is celebrating our 5th year and we are all excited about this.
It’s been five years of hard work, trying very much to make dreams of young boys real, five years of trying to find the best talents in Ghana, and give them good tuition and opportunities.
The entire management team of myself, Mohammed Jiji Alifoe, Prince Abdul Hamid, Ibrahim Dossey, Sulley Awudu and the technical team have all walked in one direction trying to make dreams come real.
Within this period, we have worked with many young boys, from far and near of this country. From Bolga, Tamale, Sunyani, Obuasi, Takoradi and from Accra have come young boys of great quality.
Through our hard work and God’s blessings, our son, Baba Abdul Rahman flourished and signed for German side, Greuther Furth, where he has risen through the ranks and also played for Ghana at u-20 and senior team levels.
John Antwi also left in the summer of 2012 to sign for Ismailly Club of Egypt. As I write this, our former captain, Abdul Bashiru, has just begun a 6 month contract with Ismailly Club of Egypt. Three of our young talents, Nana Sei Agyemang, Joshua J. O. Benneth and Emmanuel Sowah are all with the national U- 17 team.
From the transfer of Baba Abdul Rahman, we have been able to strengthen our relationship with Greuther Furth in Germany. The result is that Dreams FC has enjoyed the donation of Sports equipment from Furth. It also led to the visit of the President of Furth, Mr. Helmut Hack and his son, Mr. Christian Hack to Ghana in June 2013. The relationship is set to grow.
In August of 2012, we officially opened a new secretariat for the club in the heart of Dzorwulu, Accra. This has really helped the club to improve on all departments. We engaged the former assistant coach of Kotoko, Henry Wellington to add some quality to our technical set up.
Furthermore, we officially engaged former national u-20 star, Winfred Dormon to assist the technical team and also to join the scouting department. Vice president Jiji Alifoe was directly put in charge of the scouting department which also included Daniel Yankey, formerly of Ashantigold SC.
This year, our ambition is to qualify to the 1st division and as I write this piece, we occupy the top spot on the league log. (5 games to end the league). I hope that the technical team will work hard to ensure our dream of retaining the league title and gaining promotion is realized.
In my final remarks, let me thank our friends in Germany led by Mr. Sascher Empacher for the wonderful relationship we have established.
